Volume answers «how much», not «which way»

Volume is how much changed hands, nothing more. A move on heavy volume had many participants and is harder to reverse quietly; the same move on thin volume is one impatient player and often gives the ground back. Volume never tells you direction on its own — a huge red candle and a huge green one can carry identical volume. Use it to weigh a move you have already read, not to read it.
