Trend and range are two different games

The basics · OnlyTrade trading school

In a trend, price keeps making higher highs and higher lows (or the mirror), and pullbacks are entries. In a range, it keeps returning to a middle, and the edges are entries — the same action that wins in one loses in the other. Most losing streaks are not bad entries; they are a range strategy used in a trend, or a trend strategy used in a range. Before anything else, decide which regime you are in — and accept that the answer is often «neither, yet».
